Cemetery lettering takes three common forms: adding a year to a stone that's already laid out for it, adding a full new name and dates, or designing a complete inscription from scratch. Same craft, same on site work, same pricing formula: $300 plus $15 per letter. The $300 covers our attention to your particular stone; driving to the cemetery, reading the existing carving, matching the font, handling any required paperwork.
When you need just the four digits of passing.
The most common cemetery lettering job. When a husband or wife passes and their name is already on the stone; usually with the first date carved and a blank for the second; we add the year of passing. On site, font matched, often finished in a single visit.
A full new inscription on a stone already in the cemetery.
For stones where the new person's name hasn't been carved at all. We add the full name plus both dates, matched to the original font and depth, with a proof to you before any cutting begins.
A complete carving from scratch.
For a stone with no existing inscription; or where the whole inscription is being designed from scratch. Names, dates, an epitaph, religious or memorial symbols. Layout proofed and approved before anything gets cut.
Lettering is $300 plus $15 per letter. Cleaning is $450 per stone. Restoration is custom quoted after we review your photos.
